Share Mondays 2021 Annual

For those not on Twitter, or not familiar with the concept of 'the weeklies', a brief introduction.

There are a few weekly photographic competitions (maybe competition is too strong a word) that take place on Twitter. One is run by a photography store, another by a paper producer but the most interesting by far is run by everyone. In a nutshell, on a Monday upload a photograph to Twitter from the previous week using the hashtag #sharemondays2022. The nominated winner from the previous week chooses this weeks winner and so on. There are no prizes, no perceived ideas of what the judges might like, unpredictable and democratic.

I haven't been taking part so much over the last couple of years so was pleasantly surprised when my entry in Week 40 was chosen as the winner, and so I had the privilege to pick the winner the following week. This simple fact means that my photograph is included in the annual winner's book which you can buy here for only £5.22. And if you are on Twitter why not give Dylan Nardini (@ShutrRelease) a follow. Share Mondays was his brainchild and he puts in all the work for producing the book each year.

My photograph was of Tràigh Tuath, Isle of Barra.
