Based in Scotland, Michael's photography is rooted in a close observation of landscape, place and light. His predominantly black-and-white work takes a quiet, minimalist approach, often finding abstraction and unexpected detail in familiar surroundings.
 

His photographs have been exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions across the Hebrides, and his work has been published in books and magazines and featured by the BBC. He has been shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards and Bird Photographer of the Year.
