Now open at Taigh Chearsabhagh in Lochmaddy, an exhibition of photography of the Outer Hebrides 2018 - 2022. I've chosen 25 images which will be on display until April the 30th.
Curated for Taigh Chearsabhagh with the Uist Arts Association, this collection of photographs were taken on the islands of Uist, Harris, Lewis and occasionally in between. The collection presents both seen and unseen spaces from around the islands without resorting to sentimentality and/or cliché. The techniques used to capture the images range from the traditional to the contemporary but are always captured in camera.
None of the work has been previously exhibited while many of the images are being seen for the first time in this exhibition. Each image has been printed myself on museum quality 100% cotton paper from the masters at Hahnemühle in Germany before being carefully framed prior to the installation.
If you are unable to get to Lochmaddy but want to see more of the work, I'll be sharing the images on Instagram over the coming weeks while the framed photographs are available to purchase via the Taigh Chearsabhagh online store or from the venue itself.
Please visit Taigh Chearsabhagh Café and have a coffee and cake while enjoying the photographs. If you choose the coffee served in the Cafetière you will be drinking coffee roasted in South Uist by SkyDancer Coffee Roasters (which is 50% me). I'm fairly sure this a unique experience.
